my birthday is coming up so sooooon

on June 1st I shall be 17 years of age!
isn't that exciting??

on another note, I just finished "A Great and Terrible Beauty" by Libba Bray. I didn't think it was that fantastic while I was reading it, but then I couldn't put it down D: the real plot didn't begin until halfway into it, FYI.

now I wanna try "Twilight" by Stephenie Myers. I know it's got a crazy rabid fanbase, but I'm still wary. I've got, like, a running tally in my head of people I know who like it and people I know who don't.

(I loved Buffy, a wonderfully plotted sci-fi fantasy with realistically written characters)
and *makani, a popular and hugely talented Harry Potter fanartist, spoofed Myers' book in 'twilight' [link]
(Harry Potter is, of course, a great fantasy series with, again, excellent writing)
but then *cindre, a sweet, romantic, and artistically skilled Danny Phantom fan, is a fan of Twilight. and I loved Danny Phantom and I'm a hopeless romantic. so we have that in common. ^^
so.. so far two out of three people-I-respect-who-enjoy-good-fantasy-series
say nay to Twilight.
I'm still gonna read it this summer.
